I’m Annie, a digital illustrator and visual development artist. With my art I explore the understated - in beauty and in expression. I have a love of stories that seeps into my way of creating. When I'm not drawing, you usually find me either reading or obsessing over a personal project, whether that be building a door or sculpting mushrooms in clay.
Drawing is many things to me, but most of all it is a source of joy and comfort. That said, it has also been a struggle. With the launch of my art courses I share with you the tips and tricks I have picked up along the way, to hopefully make your art journey a less frustrating one. COURSES CONTENT
The Beginner, In-Depth Digital Drawing and Navigating the Industry courses are a space where we will explore different aspects of art together to become more conscious of what we see and how we choose to apply it in our art. Composed of 17 easy-to-follow modules and 70+ video lessons of +19 hours, these courses will cover both the very basics and more advanced techniques that will help you in your creative process. As well as learning to Navigate the Industry with ease. By the end of the courses, you will have strengthened your skills in sketching, coloring, composition, storytelling, perspective, brushwork, painting surfaces, and concept design, all essential to creating refined, personal digital artworks. You will also gain clarity on how to present your work professionally and make confident, informed decisions as a digital artist.
MATERIALS AND TOOLS
We will go through choosing your drawing tablet and software, as well as the settings and brushes that can help facilitate your drawing and make for a more streamlined drawing experience.
SKETCHING
This module begins with warm-up exercises and then goes on to demonstrate how to break down your subject when you are drawing from reference, how to enhance your observational abilities and how to use that to draw from your imagination.
PAINTING
In this module we will look at how light and shadow can be used effectively to suggest volume and bring a 2D surface to 3D. We will examine colours, how they interact with light, and how they interact with one another.
COMPOSITION
This module is all about achieving harmony in your artwork, as well as disrupting that harmony. It introduces composition basics, guiding you in arranging elements for visual balance and impact.
STORYTELLING
Anything, from lines to colour to composition, has narrative power. Drawing from what we have learnt throughout the courses, we will now look at how to actively apply that knowledge to convey a story.
PERSPECTIVE
We will explore fundamental techniques for creating accurate and compelling perspectives in your artwork. By the end of this module, you will have the skills to confidently incorporate perspective into your digital art projects, enhancing their visual impact and believability.
BRUSHWORK
We will delve into the techniques and methods for mastering digital brushwork. You'll learn how to choose and customize brushes to suit different styles and effects, as well as how to use brushwork to create texture, depth, and detail in your artwork.
PAINTING SURFACES
We will explore how to accurately depict various surfaces and materials in your artwork. By the end of this module, you will have the skills to create realistic and compelling representations of diverse surfaces and materials in your digital art projects.
CONCEPT DESIGN
We will cover the essential principles and techniques for creating compelling concept art. You'll learn how to develop unique and imaginative ideas, from initial sketches to refined concepts, as well as how to communicate your designs through visual storytelling effectively.
DRAWING FROM START TO FINISH
I will guide you through the entire process of creating a complete digital artwork. You'll learn how to start with initial sketches, develop your composition, refine details, and apply finishing touches.
CLARITY
You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the creative industry’s main fields: freelance, animation, publishing, education, and design, allowing you to identify where your skills fit best and how different career paths function in practice.
VISIBILITY
